Running therapy

What is it?
At Running therapy we use running to improve your physical and psychological condition. You can
think of gloomy complaints, lethargy and study stress. The course is also intended for students who
do not (or no longer) exercise and want to get moving in a literal and figurative sense. As a result,
Running therapy also contributes to a more positive self-image. Running experience is not necessary.
Under supervision, you learn to run regularly at your own pace. The group consists of a maximum of
14 students from the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and University of Groningen.

Purpose of the course
The goal is to contribute to mental, psychological and physical well-being with running! You will also
meet fellow students during this training.

Structure of the course
The course consists a period of 5 weeks, with 1 running session per week under the supervision of a
physiotherapist.
The running time/distance is built up in a responsible manner to prevent injuries. That is why it is
important that you are able to attend all classes during the 5 weeks.

Location, date and time
The Running therapy is a collaboration between the RuG, Hanze and ACLO and is accessible to both
the RuG and Hanze University of Applied Sciences students.
The lessons are given from the ACLO, Blauborgje 16 Groningen. We gather in front of the main
entrance (opposite the tennis courts). The Running therapy is from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM and will be
offered 3 times during the school year 2025-2026.

Make sure you wear running shoes and comfortable clothing/sportswear.

Costs
There are no costs for the course and an ACLO membership is not required.
